Misleading check offer.

Take note if you own a web site!

We recently received the following check in the mail.

At first glance it looks like one of our regular checks for advertising on our web site. But it isn't. And if you own a web site, you may get one too.

It is a solicitation to place a listing on their web site. And if you bank the check you have automatically signed up to pay them $27.50 a month direct from your bank account. This is disclosed in small print. Look very carefully at the back of the check shown below.

They get your bank account details when you deposit the check and can then automatically debit your bank account. Find out how this works.

Is this offer illegal? Probably not. They say that you can cancel at any time and receive a refund within 120 days. But it is, in our opinion misleading.
